Чем больше контекста, тем лучше.
По-моему, "it's not rocket science" - это когда убеждаешь кого-то, что некий предмет не так уж сложен в изучении, как кажется.
А русское "тоже мне, бином ньютона" - какое-то (советское???) псевдоинтеллигентское выражение, причем с издёвкой и пренебрежением.

Prior to the 1980s, 'brain surgery' had been the occupation that simple tasks were said not to be. 'It's not brain surgery' dates from the 1960s. Before that, straightforward tasks were simply said to be 'as easy as pie' or 'as easy as falling off a log'.

Вы меня ужасаете. Считается, что переводы Пивера и Волохонской образцы искусства и техники. Конечно it's not a rocket science у Булгакова еще быть не могло, выражение появилось позже. До этого, как тут (http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/its-not-rocket-science.html) точно заметили было выражение it's not brain surgery. No-brainer тоже появилось в 70х согласно Cassell's dictionary of slang. It's child's play будет наверное постарше как оборот.
