Единица измерения - англ.

Я всегда думала, что единица измерения это unit of measurement. Коллега (не переводчик, не русскоязычный) уперся рогом, что unit of measure. Я ему уже ссылку на страницы Международной палаты мер и весов давала, где написано, что СИ - это система units of measurement, а он все упирается, и обойти его я не могу.
Вопрос: как доказать человеку (хорошему человеку, то есть необидно чтобы), что это все же measurement? Или я уперлась совершенно зря?

Речь не идет ни о каком контексте, таблица с данными - цифры в одной колонке, единица измерения - в другой...

1. So, let's check Google, first of all:
"unit of measurement" -- About 30,700,000 results
"unit of measure" -- About 7,300,000 results

2. Let's check Wikipedia for its definitions (W. is a brain-dead and politically censored resource that is useful at times because it is brought to absolute compliance with the American worldview and usage by a small army of editors and censors).

(and "units of measurement" is the non-specific, generic article on the subject)

3. I think also, although I did not check it properly, that what we are dealing with here is the difference btw American language as compared to the English language. A somewhat similar example, I believe, is "transport/transportation":
"A means of transport" in one of the languages would become "a means of transportation" in the other.

So just calm down. And check if your vis-a-vis in this dispute is American or studied in the States

These are rather equivalent expressions, but units of measurement is used far more often. Exception: units of weights and measures, which is a calque from the French, unités des poids et mesures, ср. русск. "единицы мер и весов".

Есть ещё один вариант, тем более в таблице, на мой взгляд, подойдёт ;)

Лично мне больше нравятся units of measure и measurement units, но я явно в меньшинстве. Мне почему-то кажется, вариант units of measurement как раз склеен из этих двух словосочетаний. Я tech writer, когда-то давно этот вопрос у меня тоже обсуждался в контексте софтвера ;)
По существу вопроса - ничего страшного, ни один вариант не неправильный, можно не упираться.

Даже стандарт называется "unified code of units of measure".
