Unfortunately, only 20% of the clients getting quotes provided were converting, and of those, it was taking an average of five different quotes to wind up with one order. To the screaming anguish of the sales reps, I instituted a new policy: $500.00 charged any new, prospective client for quotes on a project, $200.00 to all but a few "Grade AAA" established clients, applied to the order but otherwise non-refundable, paid in advance, credit card or check
