А вот есть floating tail hose и floating rail hose. Ясно, что плавучие шланги. А конкретно что это за пакость?
Что такое tail и rail - понятно. Но не в данном случае.
Это в системе беcпричального налива нефти с терминала на танкер.

I would venture to guess that a floating rail hose (http://frontpage.shadow.net/~belzona/chinese/Oil&Gas%20KHIA/Vol%20XI%20No%204.pdf) is a section of floating hose that's reinforced so as to be used as a rail hose section. (In this context, "rail" typically refers to the rail of a ship, and "rail hose" is sometimes called "over-the-rail hose.") Rail hose is used to connect a tanker's manifold to an exterior hose.

I found only one reference on the 'net to tail hose (http://www.shipping-guides.co.uk/shipping-guides/Downloads/gttpplansample.pdf). It looks like a section of hose that hangs from the rail hose (looking a little like a tail). I would imagine that a "floating tail hose" is a tail hose made of a section of floating hose.
