Как думаете, слово "wok" здесь - это очепятка? Или нет?

нет... в данном случае подразумевается способ приготовления пищи, производный от жарки на сковороде...

"Wok" is some sort of frying pan in China. Of course, the author is playing around a bit, making allusions to the popular term "work ethics."

Btw, actually according to google almost 80% of the people write "work ethic" and only just above 20% write "work ethics." I always thought that the latter is incorrect, but now that made me thinking...
