Bloggs, насколько я понимаю, это просто "рядовой читатель", так?
А "responsible for the last stab" -- это значит, что в конечном счете всё зависит от него, верно? И ему не удается увидеть жизнь героя во всей полноте, потому что он только читает биографию, а не общается с очевидцами непосредственно и не читает источники, на основе которых эта биография написана.
Или я что-то путаю?
