Suitable program?
Cataloger?

We have organized a comfortable program of excursions for senior citizens.
We have organized a suitable program for punishing criminals.

No. A suitable program for old people should be comfortable. But a suitable program for criminals should be uncomfortable.

- Comfortable sofa.

1. catalogue (English)
2. catalog (American English)

My ninth-grade algebra teacher said, "Have the courage of your convictions." So Lingvo must either be reporting British usage, archaic usage, or be just plain wrong.

As I understand, it`s not correct to say Comfortable program. Why just not to say "convenient program"?

suitable vs comfortable, cataloguer vs cataloger

Software -> suitable (better to say "this software (!) suits for... "
Armchair -> comfortable
Time -> convenient

i ni v koem sluchae ne "VERY BEST" :)))

exp.:
1.Children can present data in simple block graphs, pictograms or sets, or can enter it into a computer, using suitable software, to compile their own database.

2.This can be interfaced through a suitable analogue port; a joystick socket may be enough, given suitable software.

Additionally, the cataloguer will be sure to make comparisons, which will be useful to the reader, for the format is one of the few in which a generous number of illustrations can be included.

cataloger hehehe... neither me nor Oxford English Dictionary ever heard of it :)

tak chto pishite pravil'no ;)
