take 1st exit at circle
take 1nd exit at roundabout
есть ли какая-то разница между 1 и 2 или это только AmE vs BrE?

upd: thanxalot :)

[AmE] никогда не слышал 2, только 1. В т.ч. в тексте ПДД.

В BrE строго roundabout.

Бордюр и поребрик.

Roundabouts

A roundabout is an intersection where traffic travels around a central island in a counterclockwise direction. Vehicles entering or exiting the roundabout must yield to vehicles, bicyclists, and pedestrians.

Ну, в Калифорнии все не как всюду :).
на другом побережье, в Массачусеттсе, в правилах используется слово rotary. Три года назад слова roundabout не было вообще, в самых новых, оказывается, добавили:

A rotary is an intersection of roads coming together from
several directions that allows drivers to continue
through the intersection without stopping at a
STOP sign or a traffic signal

...

Roundabouts are similar in function and layout to
rotaries. They are generally much smaller in
diameter than rotaries and have a smaller central
barrier.

То есть разобрались, что "AmE" и "никогда не слышал" суть разные категории? Good.

Colloquial usage:
Traffic circle is general American, rotary is New England, roundabout is CA and a few other places.

Formal usage: many DMVs/MVAs make actual distinctions, especially between a traffic circle and a roundabout, depending on the size, number of lanes etc. Real humans do not know the difference.
