букварь

Ситуация следующая: нужно написать резюме на английском языке о статье на болгарском. В статье речь идет о произведении под названием «Болгарский букварь» 1844 г. Причем букварь здесь не простой, а «обширный» - в нем и буквы, и слоги, и разные маленькие рассказы, и афоризмы, и даже песни.
И собственно вопрос: как бы перевести это название? Особенно волнует слово «букварь». В словаре ABC-book и primer. Но с первым звучит ужасающе, а второе – вроде бы по Лонгману получается просто учебник по какому-нибудь предмету для начального уровня.
Может просто транслитерировать в Bulgarian bukvar или Bolgarsky bukvar

Dr. Petar Beron (Bulgarian: Петър Берон) (c. 1795, Kotel–March 21, 1871) was a famous Bulgarian educator. He created the first modern Bulgarian primer, called the Fish Primer (Рибен буквар, Riben bukvar) because of the dolphin drawn on its front cover.

Beron's Riben bukvar was a primer rather than a dictionary.

Рыбный букварь Берона издан в 1824 году, если о нем речь идет. Чаще всего на английский переводят как Fish ABC book. Еще встречала как ABC of the Fish.

I would simply go for "Bulgarian Primer", mayber mentioning its content. Something like this:

"In 1844, [John Doe] published his 'Bulgarian Primer' (Bolgarsky bukvar). A fairly large book, it started with the letters of the alphabet, progressing through syllables and words to short stories, adages, and songs". (Or whatever else you need to say about it)
