Возможно туплю над чем-то элементарным, но категорически не понимаю значения словосочетания (
Текст про компанию Cisco Systems. Рассказывается о технических решениях, которые она представляла на рынке. Вот такой кусочек:

Despite the unconventional approach, the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) launch had more impact than the 2004 launch of the Cisco Carrier Routing System (CRS), which was brought to market in a more traditional fashion. While there were 100 customers present for the live CRS announcement, Cisco leveraged collaboration technology to host more than 7,000 customers when it launched UCS—450 live and 6,600 by TelePresence and WebEx. The launch ultimately generated 4 billion media hits.

Прямо уже извелась вся над этими медиа-хитами, буду глубоко признательна тому, кто подскажет, о чем речь.

возможно, но даже по отношению к инету, это все равно запрос-доступ:

hit
hit means a single request from a web browser for a single item from a web server; thus in order for a web browser to display a page that contains 3 graphics, 4 hits would occur at the server: 1 for the HTML page, and one for each of the 3 graphics.

И все это где-то должно физически хранится в любом случае.

Конечно, любая технология, связанная с передачей данных, содержит те элементы, где данные хранятся. Но в данном случае media - это shared means of communication (which in this specific case results in collaboration), а media hit - это подсоединение к этой среде распространения информации. Запрос подразумевает, что должен быть какой-то отклик, то есть, in my sick mind, it's a one-way transaction. С доступом я больше согласен. :)

I don't quite get it. You probably thought long and hard to come up with some underhanded way of letting me know that I am an idiot. But you shouldn't have resorted to such subtleties as I am not quite capable of comprehending them, I just shrug them off as I go.

I don't intend to turn this into a pissing contest, but immature much? You know what they say about when you assume? Don't, because not everyone checks posts and emails every 5 minutes, some people actually have a life. Better check the definition of the term against what you described.

I do know the definition but you tend to use web-site terminology while talking about something very different.
