Deuteronomy makes interpretation of the law a fundamental way of constructing culture, and it does so by placing its interpretation in the foundational setting of God's revelation at the holy mountain. In this process the Bible become an interpreted artifact, with the chain of Mosaically authorized interpretation stretching the horizon.
