Years back, when I worked with a top theft control expert in the retail industry, he had a client suffering nearly a 30% employee theft problem in the warehouses. It dropped overnight to under 8% with the installation and monitoring of wall-to-wall video surveillance equipment

это 30% служащих крали? или что-то другое? Не 30 же процентов товара разворовывали?

The magnitude of employee theft is largely a reflection of the internal conditions within an organization and can vary widely by type of company, by store within a company, or even by month within a store. For this reason, any assessment regarding the magnitude of the problem can only be valid for a given retailer at a given time and should not be considered representative of the nation’s retailers as a whole or as an “industry average.”

Employee theft can be responsible for 80% of store’s shrinkage, or as little as 10%, but it falls most often in the 20% – 40% range.

Shoplifting, on the other hand, is relatively stable and typically ranges from less than 0.6%-1.5% of sales.

по-моему тут 30% разворовывали сотрудники, иначе как можно подсчитать 30% сотрудников-расхитителей, если не было системы слежения и потом спад до 8%.
по-русски можно написать что-то типа "30% уровень расхитительства"; пусть читатель ломает голову сам :)
