This young doctor, full of the most scientific lore, and carrying out the instructions of his teacher, took well over 14 days, nearly three weeks, before he was quite recovered! It was an obstinate attack and he was run down after too much study, I was told then, and I believed, still being in the apprentice stage.
Вопрос: be run down тут имеет какое значении? О нем плохо отзывались, как о nerd'е или интенсивная учеба подрезала ему крылышки?
