Уважаемые сообщники!
Помогите разобраться с предложениями. Речь идет об осмотре состояния рабочего колеса насоса.

Impeller must be dynamically balanced to within 0.2 ounce in or 1 mil peak to peak. Remove metal from the face of the shrouds near the O.D. as necessary by grinding and blend into the surrounding surface.

Не очень понятно, что здесь имеется в виду под O.D., при чем здесь унции и что нужно сделать с металлом.

чисто логически пердполагаю, что OD здесь outside diameter (ну раз речь идёт о колесе), больше ничего умного в голову не пришло

Да, я тоже думаю, что это именно внешний диаметр. Но тогда не понятно, зачем он там

If the impeller is not "balanced" the whole pump will vibrate at the operating speed. To much vibration damages the bearings after a while. The balance is determined on a machine which will tell the operator where the extra weight lies, and how much it is, so many grams (28.35 grams = 1 ounce) at so many degrees from a reference mark. Your instructions tell the machinist to remove the weight by grinding off some metal near the outside diameter. "Shroud" is some construction on one side of the impeller. "blend" means to make a smooth transition from the grinding area into the untouched part of the impeller.
