Уважаемые Олл,

Есть ли в американском языке общепонятные выражения, означающие мужскую слабость?
По-русски, если сказать "У Петровича уже лет десять как (на) полшестого" - все поймут, о чём речь.
А что в таких случаях говорят американцы?

Интересуют только выражения, не упоминающие впрямую понятия импотенции или нестояка. Совсем идеально, если эти выражения намекают на какие-то символы (как в случае полшестого - на стрелки часов).

Нет, увы. Это надо совершенно нежно обойти совершенно без прямых указаний на прэдмэт.

Простое гугление дает кучу вариантов идиом.

Помнится, в фильме Human Traffic проскочило выражение "Mr. Floppy". На мой взгляд удачно подходящее под условия поставленной автором задачи.

Но нужно обратить внимание, что в фильме описывался английский (Лондонский) сленг, тогда как автор интересовался именно американским вариантом.

"Wet noodle" would not be understood, unless it is somehow specified that one refers to Petrovich's manhood. Normally, wet noodle is associated with a slap on the wrist («дешево отделался»).

"His disk has been floppy for 10 years" is perhaps too direct.

"He's been half-past-six for the last ten years" is very clear.

"His soldier boy would not stand at attention", again perhaps too direct.

There are many indirect allusions like "no yeast in the bread", "no helium in the balloon", "no wind in the sail", etc.
