Date: 2003-07-15 06:33 am (UTC)-- Italy's biggest power company, Enel SpA (EN), is planning to launch an initial public offering of the country's electricity grid early next year, depending on market conditions, a source familiar with the matter said Monday.
Europe's largest listed utility, which has hired Mediobanca SpA (I.MDB) and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS), has pegged the value of its Terna SpA unit owning 100% of the grid at between EUR4 billion and EUR4.5 billion, the source told Dow Jones Newswires on condition of anonymity.
