Контекст: ...бразилец, тридцати с копейками лет, с видом "NERD", коим тщательно старается не казаться....

UPD 2 Люди не спорьте :) Я поняла, что смотря по сюжету,  нерда можно перевести и как "ботаник" и как "интеллигент" и как "технарь". Всё зависит от сюжета. Все вы по своему правы. Всем большое спасибо.
